The School Board will re-launch our Superintendent search in the fall of 2016.
The Cape Elizabeth School Department, situated in a beautiful, seaside community, is a high-performing school district looking for a dynamic leader who shares our vision of exceptional, innovative education and is able to continue moving our district toward its goals.
Cape Elizabeth has a superb quality of life with a small coastal town feel (population of 9,000) while being just five miles southeast of Maine’s largest city. Our highly efficient and high-performing district serves 1,600 students in three schools located on one campus: Pond Cove elementary School (K-4), Cape Elizabeth Middle School (5-8), and Cape Elizabeth High School (9-12). Our students consistently score among the top in the state on standardized tests, and over 90% of graduates pursue post-secondary education. Many residents move to Cape Elizabeth because of the fine reputation of the educational system, and a vast majority of families choose to send their children to the public Cape School system.
Cape Elizabeth Schools have recently created a fresh vision, mission statement, and strategic plan which go beyond standard measurements of achievement in order to empower and nurture the potential of all its students. At the heart of Cape Elizabeth schools are our values of Community, Academics, Passion, and Ethics.
The School Board seeks candidates who wish to join our vibrant, active ocean-side community in exploring even greater opportunities for excellence in our schools.
